There are recording softwares available to suit the amateur and the professional. Computer technology has brought the possibility of producing professional quality recording to the home studio.

Cubase

Cubase is one of the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) software. Developed by Steinberg, it includes some vst and fx/dynamics/eq.

It has a easy interface that made it good for musicians and starters. For "Mac"(OSX) and "PC" (Windows). It uses a dongle key as antipiracy method (a special usb key).

Logic Pro

Logic Pro is a suite of software modules: Logic Pro provides a desktop best suited to MIDI instruments and has a wide range of of sampled and analogue instruments. Audio can also be recorded and edited. Tracks from Logic Pro can be saved and transfered to Logic Studio. Logic Studio provides the audio tools to edit and mix tracks in finer detail. The package also comes with GarageBand - giving pre-recorded possibilities for quick "jam" sessions.
