WikiMusician is a musician’s multimedia wiki to playing, recording and performing music. It allows anyone to learn skills and knowledge related to the creation of music, and provides a free platform for musicians to share their related talent by teaching each other with written words, digital audio files and digital video files. The website is navigated with a standard browser through hierarchal listings of topics, categories, articles and demos. Content may also be accessed directly with a built-in search function or via external search engines. Anyone can access content, modify content or contribute new content. The look-and-feel is similar to Wikipedia but is multimedia-focused to serve multisensory aspects of being a musician. To pay for infrastructure, the site uses the Google Adsense program, which displays small context-sensitive ads on the right and bottom margins.
